- McGold Card
The McGold Card program is a benefit we offer you to help you get more from your money. It provides for discounts on items such as haircuts; clothing; movie rentals; or electronics and can help you learn how to save money.
- Health Care Coverage
McDonald's Insurance Program provides a menu of health care choices that includes medical, dental /vision and accidental death and term life insurance coverage for you and your family. You must enroll within 45 days of hire and you can cancel at any time. For more details, please see the enclosed enrollment guide.
- Meals
As an employee you are entitled to $5.50 worth of food at the regular retail price. Special promotional items are not applicable. In order to take advantage of this, the following criteria must be met 1. You work at least five (5) hours on a scheduled shift. 2. You are clocked out and/or on break. 3. Only one (1) meal per worked shift. Crew food is to be ordered by the employee on the customer side of the counter and entered into the cash register system as any customer transaction. All employee meals are to be assembled and presented by the employee working behind the counter. Under no circumstances will employees be allowed to prepare or assemble their own meals. The manager must discount the meal 100% and sign the receipt for the store records. All meals received are for the employee's personal consumption.
- Uniforms/Shoes
Each employee will receive two (2) complete uniforms at time of orientation which consist of one (1) hat; two (2) shirts; two (2) pairs of pants; and one (1) apron. Discounted shoes are available from Shoes for Crews.
- Flexible Schedule
We make every effort to work with your availability. If you need to request for time off, you must do so in writing in the “request off†book two (2) days prior to start of scheduling. Ask your orientation manager for details.
- Vacations
Annually you will have the opportunity to earn up to 40 hours worth of vacation coupons. To qualify, you must work 32 hrs a week and/or 1600 hrs. for the year. Coupons will be issued on your anniversary date.
- 401(k)
It is never too early to plan for a great retirement. Our program helps you secure your financial future. In order to participate in our 401K Plan, you must meet the following eligibility requirements: 1.You must be 21 years old. 2.You must be employed for at least one (1) year prior to enrollment date. 3.You must work at least 1,000 hours in the previous twelve (12) month period. Our plan will contribute $ for $ for every $ you contribute to the plan, up to the first 3%, 50 cents on the next 1%, 50 cents on the next 1% and must defer 5% to get 4% match. Enrollment dates are January 1 and July 1.
- Crew Recognition
We have incentives designed to reward and thank employees for all their hard work. Birthdays cards, anniversary cards, and recognition pins are handed out. Company sponsored picnic with prizes are held. Other company events, in store incentives and recognition are also given throughout the year.

- Performance & Wage Reviews
Our review process provides an opportunity for the employee and manager to discuss goals, communicate expectations and identify improvements. Wage reviews are conducted every six (6) months.
- Scholarships
McDonald's is committed to our employee's education. As part of that commitment, we have a McDonald's National Employee Scholarship Program. Each year, McDonald's selects one crew employee from each state to receive a $1,000 scholarship. The McDonald's crew employee exemplifying the highest commitment to school, work and volunteer activities is named the McScholar of the Year and receives a $5,000 scholarship.
- MCDirect Shares
McDirect Shares is a direct stock purchase plan that lets you build ownership in McDonald's and reinvest dividends in the company. You can purchase shares of McDonald's common stock through payroll deductions, withdrawals from a bank account, or by check.
- McResource
McResource Line is a confidential referral service available 24 hours a day, 7 days a week. Employees will have free, unlimited access to professional consultants who can help them find answers to any question, problem, or issue they or thier families may have. From child care to elder care to affordable housing or financial aid for college; no problem is too large, no question is too small!
